Week 7, Day 2, Monday 7th December

Dear students

Tomorrow you are going to meet in the Computer lab to practice for CGE 2.

The room is C 5 – 1066 – make a note of it and do not forget that this is where you should go tomorrow!. You will have practice there with Ms Faith.

For the CGE 2 on Wednesday 9th December

You have your CGE 2 in C 5 – 1057

Remember to :
1. Bring your ID
2. Come on time or before time!
3. The exam is for 80 min without the break
4. Turn off your mobile phone and put it in your bag
5. CGE 2 is 15% of your overall grade

For the Final Exam on Thursday 10th December
It is from 10.00 – 12.00 in C 1 – 1061

Remember to:
1. Bring your ID
2. Come on time or before time as you will start with the Listening and if you are 10 min late you will not be let into the exam room!
3. There will be Listening – 1 dialogue and 2 lectures and Reading – 2 texts (30 questions)
4. Final Exam is 20% of your overall grade

Week 5, Day 5, Thursday 26th Nov

Dear Students

Today we are going to do more practice for CGE 2 and after that we are going to do listening from Chapter 2.

Next week UFP have classes on Sunday and half day on Monday.

Dear Students

Today we are meeting in the Computer lab – C 5 1057.

This is some information about CGE 2 and your Final Exam

CGE 2 – 9th December Wednesday
Final Exam – 10th December Thursday

CGE Two (15%)
• 65 questions (50 VTL and 15 reading skills)
• VTLs 3A & 3B plus a small number of words from VTLs 1A, 1B, 2A & 2B
• Reading part consists of five short paragraphs, 3 questions each. All questions test detailed understanding

How to best prepare for your CGE 2 ? – Practise!!! – Especially VTL 3 a and 3 b, but also revise VTL 1a 1b and VTL 2a 2b during your holidays. Use iBook and all the exercises related to the VTL words, and the blog (websites in VTL practice)

Final Exam
It is worth 20% of your total grade.

The final exam will consist of the following parts:

1. A Listening Dialogue (10 qs)
2. A Lecture (10 qs)
3. A note-taking Lecture (10 qs)
4. A medium-length reading passage (topic=Numbers, Words, People) (15 qs)
5. A longer reading passage (topic=Numbers, Words, People) (15 qs)

• This is a reading and listening exam. Improving your reading and listening takes time and you will be working on these skills in your Level Three Integrated Skills class so don’t skip classes
• You can improve your reading and listening by practicing outside class. Why not read something that interests you online? Why not try reading an English newspaper or magazine?

Week 5, Day 2, Monday 23rd November

Dear Students

Today we will start with teacher’s evaluation:
